"EVERYONE will sit under their own vine and under their own fig tree, and NO ONE WILL MAKE THEM AFRAID, for the Lord Almighty has spoken. ALL NATIONS may walk in the name of their gods, but we will walk in the name of the Lord for ever and ever" (MICAH 4:4-5)

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO LEARN

ABOUT RELIGIOUS PERSECUTION?

It is important to learn about religious persecution first â€‹because millions of people are hurting and dying from this discrimination. It is also important to learn about it so that history doesn't repeat itself and people can go on in peace.

HOW CAN WE HELP SOLVE THIS?

MINDFULNESS: We can help solve religious persecution by first being mindful of our own religions and religions around us. If we are mindful of the religions that surround us in our communities, when we have to interact with them or interact with others of those religions, we can be respectful.

RESPECT: Respect is also another way that can help solve religious persecution. If we respect other religions, other religions will hopefully respect our own as well. If we leave religions to believe/act as they do, they will give us the same respect.

GOVERNMENT INVOLVEMENT: If the government would promote a more coordinated and effective response to violations of religious freedom, it might help put an end to it. If the government would not turn a blind eye towards this issue, acknowledge it in any way, shape, or form (small or big), then others might be scared of the punishment and not make these horrific acts.

BRYAN STEVENSON'S THEORY: We can use Bryan Stevenson's theory of social justice to combat religious persecution.

1) PROXIMITY: If government officials or religious freedom groups get close to the issue and show that there are consequences, this might stop groups from not allowing groups to practice their religion.

2) UNCOMFORTABILITY: You have to be willing to get uncomfortable, this goes along with getting closer to the issue. If we are not willing to become uncomfortable, these acts will only continue. Growth happens when you are uncomfortable.

3) KEEPING HOPE ALIVE: If we, as people who want to stop this social justice issue, keep hope and keep putting effort into stopping this, our efforts will take us far. We have to have hope that our world can be full of peace, but we have to have hope in order to do that.
